Attraction Overview

Opened in 1983 as Taiwan’s first modern art museum, it features innovative exhibition spaces that blend art appreciation with daily life. The museum has four floors: the basement hosts young artists’ exhibitions, competitions, a library, and dining; the 1st floor features large-scale exhibitions with 6-meter-high walls and three-story-high ceilings; the 2nd floor has permanent exhibitions organized by art history or themes; the 3rd floor is dedicated to themed exhibitions in bright, cross-shaped spaces.

Designed by architect Kao Er-Pan, the museum also holds workshops, seminars, and weekend family activities to connect art with the public. Night openings on Saturdays include special lighting for both the building and outdoor sculptures, such as Ju Ming’s Taichi Arch and Li Zaiqian’s Red No Yield, creating a stunning nighttime landmark along Zhongshan North Road.

Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30–17:30

Admission Fee: NT$30 (subject to on-site announcement)
